After graduating from Rajah Muttiah Medical College, Chidambaram, her passion for derma care forged her path into specializing in dermatology. Her inquiring mind as a keen observer at Apollo Hospital in the Dermatology Department helped her absorb the basics in dermatology. She was fortunate enough to be trained by Dr.K.Karthikeyan, who headed the Dermatology Department at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College, Pondicherry University. Her strong research acumen manifested itself in several paper presentations during her post-graduation. One of her research papers on 'Perception of Psoriasis' won her an award. She is a university topper, she was awarded Roubavathi David Memorial Gold Medal by Pondicherry University. She also attended International conference conducted by National Psoriasis Foundation at Houston (USA).
Dr.Nagakeerthana presently specializes in dermatosurgery. This specialization enabled her to visit the National Skin Centre, Singapore.
